Dr. Donald Lane is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has been involved in counseling for more than 25 years. Donald holds a Bachelor’s degree in Christianity from Mercer University and a Master’s of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Donald received his Doctorate in Family Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in December, 2000. Donald’s dissertation focused on Family Relationship Dimensions and Violence among Married Couples in Southern Baptist Churches. Spousal abuse continues to be an area of clinical interest for Donald.
Donald initially practiced at the Child Guidance Center in Jacksonville, FL where he worked with children, adolescents, and their families. During this time, he worked closely with the local school system, providing clinical services to Severely Emotionally Disturbed students, as well as providing emergency evaluation services as directed by the school psychologist and counselors.
After returning to Texas, Donald served as the Treatment Coordinator/Family Therapist at the Judge Joe H. Eidson, Jr. Youth Center in Fort Worth. At the Youth Center, Donald was responsible for working with the adolescents in care as well as their families. Donald has also served as a Staff Therapist and Program Manager for Family Services in Fort Worth where he provided individual, couple, family, and group therapy services. As Program Manager, he was responsible for supervising the clinical staff, development and monitoring of the budget, as well as serving as a member of the management team, providing support to department and agency wide activities.
Donald has also served as Treatment and Outreach Program Director for STAR Council on Substance Abuse in Stephenville where he was responsible for developing and implementing an Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment program. His responsibilities included maintaining and providing clinical supervision to a qualified staff that provided both individual and group counseling. During his tenure at STAR Council, he expanded the program from one site to four sites in order to provide outpatient services to six counties.
Prior to joining Lighthouse Center for Counseling, Donald has had a private practice in Granbury and Stephenville for the past eight years. Donald serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Psychology and Counseling Department at Tarleton State University where he is a Graduate Faculty member. Donald also supervises Master students doing their Internship at his private practice and other agencies.
Donald is a Clinical Member and Supervisor Candidate of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. He has been “personally mentored” by Frank N. Thomas, PhD, LMFT, an international speaker on Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and supervision as he has worked toward his Approved Supervisor status.
Cost Per Session: Your Insurance Copay/Co-insurance. For those not using insurance/out of network, the cost is $95/session.
